As a growing specialist school supporting children and young people with severe learning difficulties, Hillcroft School continually seeks innovative ways to meet the diverse sensory and emotional regulation needs of its pupils. Faced with increasing demand for sensory spaces and limited available room within the building, the school installed a Senso Cube modular sensory room within an existing corridor space, creating an accessible and highly effective sensory environment without the need for major building works.

Over the years, Creative Activity has proudly partnered with Moneynick Primary School to help enhance learning, play, wellbeing, and inclusion across the school environment. Black Mountain Primary School partnered with Creative Activity to design and install a dedicated sensory room that supports pupils with a wide range of additional needs. The project focused on creating a calming, accessible space that promotes self-care, emotional regulation, and engagement - helping pupils feel more prepared and supported throughout the school day.

A new bespoke sensory room within Causeway Hospital’s Emergency Department is transforming the care experience for patients with additional needs. Designed to provide a calm and supportive alternative to the busy clinical environment of ED, the space features soothing lighting, calming projections, and carefully selected visual and tactile elements. More than just a sensory room, it functions as an operational clinical space where assessment, treatment and discharge can take place in a regulated and supportive setting.

Everton FC set out to incorporate dedicated sensory spaces within Hill Dickinson Stadium that would go beyond standard accessibility provision. The aim was to create bespoke, thoughtfully designed environments that felt safe, controlled and inclusive, while also reflecting the club’s identity and sense of pride. To deliver this, Everton FC approached Creative Activity to design and install specialist multi-sensory environments that could seamlessly integrate into the stadium setting.

Ballyoran Primary School is dedicated to supporting the wellbeing and development of all its pupils, particularly those in the Foundation Stage. Recognising the importance of sensory regulation and movement in learning, the school sought to enhance its environment with a purposeful sensory space.

Working alongside Roisin McGuire, Learning Support Coordinator and Vice Principal at Ballyoran Primary School, Creative Activity collaborated to design and install a bespoke sensory circuit that would bring both fun and function to the school’s daily routine.
